Welcome. My name is Chris and this is my personal homepage. Here you’ll find information on songwriting, producing, engineering, and mixing services as well as selected videos and articles from my Pro Tools Tutorial premium training library.
My hope is that through the resources at this site, by hiring me to work with you, or through my other sites, you’ll accomplish your goals with music and audio.
A bit about me
Since 1987 I’ve somehow managed to (mostly) make my living working with music and music production technology.
I’m sure you know that making a living doing something you love is always a blessing, but isn’t always that easy, or reliable. Especially in the music business. So, diversity is key.
Therefore, my professional experience includes working as a producer, recording and mix engineer, musician, published songwriter, technical consultant, and educator. All things I love doing.
I have an office and studio in Langley, British Columbia where I run my business and work on music projects. It’s where I produce and mix music, provide training, and also where I create training videos for my online training program pttuts.com.
My Music Background
For me, playing music began by banging on upside-down ice cream buckets on the kitchen floor in the early 1970′s. I moved-up to real drums when I was seven, and eventually added guitar and keyboards to my skills.
In 1985, in the golden age of MIDI, and with aspirations of becoming a music producer, I began piecing together a home studio: a synth, a sampler, 4-track recorder, and a mic. Soon, I got comfortable enough singing that I could start recording the songs I was writing.
In 1987, when I was 17, I was hired by Annex Pro, a high-end pro-audio and musical instrument dealer. That’s when my professional career began.
Working for Annex Pro I was becoming proficient with the technology and providing consulting and tutor-style training for professionals and amateurs on a daily basis. This led to getting production and engineering jobs that combined my musical creativity with my developing technical skills.
One project led to another – whether teaching, producing, songwriting, or engineering, and as a result for the last 25 years I’ve made my living working with music, music technology, and production.
What Matters To Me
Jesus Christ My Lord, and following Him, Truth, Family, Marriage, Love, Honesty, Kindness, Freedom, Sincerity, Laughter, Joy, Helping people out, Sharing, and other stuff I’m not thinking of right now.
The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul. ~ JS Bach
